What does it mean to be Agile?

Laurie Williams has been conducting a survey into what it means to be Agile, looking at the Agile manifesto and common Agile practices – how important and relevant are the principles and practices for teams today.

The survey results are available online at

She’s also asking for people to respond to an additional survey looking at the Agile principles and how they may be reworded today.

She says:

I fully acknowledge that the Agile Principles belong to the signatories of the original Agile Manifesto but your commentary on the suggested changes will reveal important trends among and behavior of agile teams.

The Future of UI Design

We’ve all marveled at the futuristic UI from Minority Report, and are eagerly awaiting the day when it will be available.

Turns out it isn’t all that far away – here’s a TED talk that demonstrates the interface working right now:,video-is-this-the-future-of-computer-control.aspx

Designing for use

The team at Cooper ( are experts in interaction design, a technique that anyone working on a software project should be aware of, irrespective of the methodology and development approaches being used.

In their latest “Drawing Board” the Cooper team looked at the design of an automatic cat feeder.  The video clip is a great look at the design thinking process and an example of using simple personas to clarify the stakeholder needs.
